Overview

A service-enhancement proposal for Public Transport Victoria, split across mobile, web and physical touchpoints, aimed at maintaining safe passenger density during COVID-19.

Passengers tap in with their phone to enter a station, with fares charged automatically. Before travelling, they can check how crowded each carriage is and choose a less busy one — spreading passengers more evenly across the train. The app also surfaces station activities and personal travel history.

UX research

This project leaned heavily on UX research: problem framing, personas, storyboards and early sketches all shaped the final interaction design, alongside a style tile that carried PTV's brand into the new touchpoints.
